wHY CHANGE DID not WORK FOR YOU THE FIRST TIME
Internal and External World
The intention is there. You want a change of some sort but you either have an idea or you have no idea and you need clarity.
I believe there are two scenarios:
The first one you have an idea
The second one you have no idea what you want or how to change.
Both scenarios require experimenting, exploring and investing.
What is our world like when we want to change?
We have an internal world and external world
The internal world that works with or against the change we want, includes our beliefs, values, fear, self-esteem, ego, passion, growth, purpose, truth and emotions/feelings.
The external world that relates to change in your career is a mortgage, bills, what you’re putting into your body, other people, goals, tools, and strategies.
So, I have seen this with celebrities, doctors or people who have a wealthy external world high status and money however their internal world is in poverty.
Here where people stumble where it comes to change.
They want it to be easy and it’s not. It requires uncomfortable action.
They change for the external and do not consider the internal. Someone might be unhappy in a career and be offered more money if you stay nothing has changed internally.
It’s uncomfortable and people go from pain to pleasure instant gratification. They try to reduce the discomfort by instant gratification. If things get tough either give up or stop taking action because it’s a relief. Like that feeling, you get when you crave sugar. While you’re eating chocolate cake or something sugary you’re really enjoying it at the time and it’s tasty. The consequence can be you feel sick after eating it or if you eat enough you gain weight. In the long term eating the sugar, food is not good for you.
You can have the best resources, strategies, tools, goals, and plans for the idea you have and then your mindset get’s in the way.
You’re too stressed to see the opportunities.
Lastly, you have not fully committed yourself to make that change and you try to do it alone. So very little action, a lot of overthinking and complaining.
Here’s what you can start doing today to gain clarity keeping in mind your internal and external world
What does success mean to you?
If I make it and successes what will happen? How will I feel?
What do I need to start doing today to get closer to making that change? So what habit do I need to include in my life?
What do you want to create?
Why do you want to create that?
What is not working?
What are your internal obstacles?
What are your values?
Why is it so important to know the answers to these questions?
When you are making changes in your life it’s important to know why. Why do you want this change? Why do you want to start your own business, why do you want that job? Why do you want to earn more money?
Find your WHY.
Reflecting and become more self-aware.
Get help from someone that is not emotionally involved in your life.
Start with answering these questions. Go outside and sit quietly, remove distractions and start to get to know your internal world.
