You might think to yourself, I really want to quit my job but I have no idea what to do.
Back when I was in this situation I was lost, frustrated and anxious. I wasn't sure if I should quit my job. I would come home feeling fatigued everyday. I was bored and just over it. It was clear I needed to quit my job but the thing is, I had no plan, no goals and no idea about what I should do next.
So, what was holding me back. It was allowing other people’s opinions to influence my decisions. People telling me I was lucky to have a job. It was my lack of confidence to believe I could make it in an entirely new career. So in the end, I was holding me back.
So, what do you do when this happens to?
Start making decisions based on what you feel, think and want for yourself.
Get to know yourself. Really well. Get clear on your values, strengths and what motivates you.
As soon as you become clear about this, you will start living by your values and with purpose. You can then set goals that are inline with what motivates you and what you find important in your life. You will find flow. This means your work will energise you, not drain you.
Start experimenting. Get out of your comfort zone and achieve something you thought was impossible.
When you take action towards something you’re interested in you will meet people and get closer to your desired outcome. You don't need to know what it is exactly, but you can try new skills, sports or ideas. The most important thing is to have a growth mindset. Be open minded and optimistic.
Surround yourself with likeminded passionate people.
When you surround yourself with people who speak your language, you become confident that you can do it too.
If you find this hard. listen to podcasts and read as many books as you can on what you're interested in doing.
As soon as you get started on these three things you will start to get unstuck. The challenge is to keep going even when times get tough. Learn from your mistakes, get help and never give up.
I would love to here from you on this topic.
